KMApplication Note NDAA-07033 Petroleum Density of Bio Diesel Fuel(BDF) Density measurement by Density/Specific Gravity Meter Standard JIS K 0061 1.Abstract This application note exemplifies a measurement of density of bio diesel fuel usingadensity/specific gravity meter made by Kyoto Electronics (KEM). 2.Reference 1)JIS K 0061-2001 Method for Density and Specific Gravity Measurement ofChemical Products 3.Cautions in measurement 1)Use a fresh desiccant (silica gel). If its color is reddish， change it with new one(blue). 2) Before sample measurement， perform factor calibration with dry air and purewater. 4.Post-measurement care Drain out residue inside the cell. Rinse well the measuring cell with solvent，and dryit completely. 5.Test equipment ain unit： Density/specific gravity meter 6.Reagent Rinse solvent (clean/dry)： Ethanol (SOLMIX) 7.Measurement procedure -Pretreatment一 Set the temperature of density meter to 15°C， and leave it until stabilized. 2)Calibrate the meter with dry air and pure water. -Measurement- 1S)ample the test liquid using sampling pump. Use caution not to produce airbubbles in the cell. Sample measurement this time shows a good repeatability with 0.00001g/cm3maximum difference.
