Time-domain thermoreflectance (TDTR) is one of the most powerful methods to measure the thermal properties, most importantly thermal conductivity, of a wide range of bulk and thin film materials and their interface. The principle is to take advantage of the change in the reflectance of the surface to derive the thermal properties when a material is heated up. The set-up includes a pump and probe pulsed-lasers. The pump laser is utilized to generate acoustic pulses. The acoustic pulses could be at a transmittance or reflectance state at an interface, depending upon the properties of the interface. The probe laser will detect the reflecting acoustic pulses through a photodetector.

Raman spectroscopy is a technique to detect the vibrational or rotational modes of lattice or molecules. There are two types of scattering, Rayleigh scattering, and Raman scattering. Rayleigh scattering is elastic, and Raman scattering is inelastic. When Raman scattering occurs, there is energy differentiate between the incident photons and scattered photons. Raman spectroscopy exhibits this energy differentiate, which corresponds with the specific vibrational or rotational mode of lattice or molecules. Therefore, it is commonly used to identify and analyze the structure and composition of the sample. It also can be combined with a microscope to observe single nanostructures or microscopic areas called micro-Raman spectroscopy.

The noble gases, i.e., helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), form a group of chemical elements with similar properties, such as odorless, colorless, and monatomic. Most importantly, they are chemically unreactive. Therefore, they are also called inert gases. Because of its chemically and biologically inert and unique isotopic features resulting from radioactive decay, the noble gases are commonly utilized to probe the ocean and Earth process, e.g., rocks and minerals dating. High-purity and quantitative noble gas sample preparation for mass spectrometric analysis are normally required. Therefore, adsorption of noble gases in an ultra-high vacuum activated charcoal trap at cryogenic temperatures is the most common procedure. The desorption of individual noble gas is a function of temperature for mass spectrometric measurements.

The 17900-2212-1-Xm Cable Adapters provide a means of connecting the CPC-XXXX-27 current probes to a USB port for power and to monitoring instruments with a BNC connector input. The cable comes in various lengths listed below. The adapter's USB module incorporates a power ON LED and a low pass filter to condition the USB 5V power and remove any high frequency switching PS noise from the USB port. The module also incorporates an isolation amplifier to isolate the CPC-XXXX-27-BP2 output signal and signal common from the USB Power and Power common. This adapter removes potential additional offset voltages that may be introduced with long cable runs between the probe and monitoring equipment as described below. Compatible with the CPC-XXXX-27-BP2 probes and 17900-2209-0 Extension Cable.

Electromagnets are used extensively in MR systems—hyperpolarized gas, prepolarized, and other low field imaging systems often use electromagnets for the main field, and conventional superconducting systems commonly use electromagnets for the shim and gradient coils. The field produced by an electromagnet is only as temporally stable as the current supply that powers it. The steady state accuracy of a current supply is fundamentally limited by noise and long-term drift of the control electronics, and the accuracy of a current supply subject to transient demands of a system, such as our Prepolarized MRI system, is fundamentally limited by the dynamic response of the coil itself.
