Surfaces with steep flanks and varying reflective properties are usually not measurable with conventional surface measurement techniques, even though there is an ongoing miniaturization of components and rising demand for automation in industry. A solution can be provided by “Focus Variation”, a new optical measurement technique that allows the robust measurement of complex surfaces with vertical resolutions up to 10 nm. In addition to topographic data, true colour information that is perfectly registered to the height data is obtained. The optical 3D measurement device “InfiniteFocus” is based on this new technology and provides a significant improvement in quality assurance. Allowing surface measurements in the micro and nano range as well as relatively large components, the Instrument can be used in the lab and as a measurement tool during production.

Oriented Growth of Self-Assembled Polyaniline Nanowire Arrays Using a Novel Method A novel method for fabrication of highly oriented polyaniline (PANI) nanowires without removal of the template was developed by combining self-assembly and template synthesis techniques. By using a self-assembly process under inhibition conditions, oriented arrays of PANI nanowires growing out of the nanoporous template were obtaioned, with nanowire diameters ranging from 110 to 190 nm and lengths of several micrometers. Self-Assembly of Large-Scale Micropatterns on Aligned Carbon Nanotube Films The fabrication of well-defined structures with nanoscale materials is a key technology,[1] and self-assembly is an efficient and often preferred process to build micro- and nanoparticles into ordered macroscopic structures.[2] As carbon nanotubes are attractive materials for nanotechnology because of their interesting physicochemical properties and molecular symmetries,[3–6] it is necessary to control the architecture of carbon nanotubes on the substrates. Most patterned carbon nanotubes are formed on prepatterned substrates or prepatterned catalysts during the fabrication process.[7–9] Herein we report the first use of a long-range force (capillary force) in the self-assembly of three-dimensional (3D) micropatterns on aligned carbon nanotube films through a water-spreading method after the growth of the carbon nanotube. It is considered that low-density regions or vacancies of carbon nanotube films play an important role in the formation of the pattern. Therefore different kinds of highly ordered micropatterned structures have been built in a controlled fashion by introducing vacancies artificially. (请下载全文欣赏)
