美国KENT公司TOPO动物呼吸机是一款专业为动物设计的呼吸机，一机多用，能满足不同动物的不同需求,适用动物体重从十几克到50公斤。TOPO动物呼吸机功能强大，可以机器控制和辅助通气，可以定压和定容。全旋钮式操作，操作便捷，适合不同实验室和人员，甚至在MRI（核磁共振实验室也可以使用）。TOPO动物呼吸机是动物呼吸的最佳选择。
供气机制：TOPO动物呼吸机是电动电控呼吸机，无须使用高压气源。TOPO可以输入麻醉气体，如异氟醚等，连接麻醉机组成呼吸麻醉系统。
机械通气模式
1、 呼吸机控制模式：适合于完全无自主呼吸的动物，完全按照机器设置的呼吸参数对动物进行呼吸控制通气。
2、 辅助通气模式:适合于有自主呼吸的动物，可以根据动物的呼吸状态触发呼吸机工作，通过调节呼吸阈值，使呼吸机辅助通气和动物保持同步，避免人机对抗(动物和机器对抗)。
3、 叹息呼吸模式：深吸气（SIGH）即每隔一定时间呼吸机增大潮气量1.5～2倍（或增加压力）。这适用于长时间使用呼吸机的动物，由于长时间应用恒定的呼吸频率和潮气量（或压力），可致扩张不足的肺泡陷闭，顺应性下降，此时虽通气量不变，但换气功能却逐渐减退，而导致动脉血氧下降，此时加用SIGH可使蒌陷的肺泡复张，以恢复并达到满意的换气效果。
呼吸模式：
1、 定压：压力触发切换。机械通气机产生正压，气流进入肺内，当预定压力值达到后，气流中断，呼气阀打开，胸廓和肺被动性地萎陷，产生呼气。
以控制压力方式, TOPO 提供动态潮气量, 总给予适合潮气量，避免气压伤害。动态潮气量的供应能够有效的避免呼吸死腔的问题，即使呼吸管路很长。在此模式下，一台TOPO可以同时满足多只小动物的通气支持。
2、 定容：容量触发切换。同样是通过正压将预定的通气量送入呼吸道或肺内，并将压力控制在一定范围内，但当预定的通气量达到后，机械通气机才停止供气，气流中断，呼气阀打开，肺和胸廓萎陷，产生呼气。
通过调节通气量，呼吸频率以及吸气比率来控制动物吸气的容量。
设置：TOPO呼吸机可以通过旋钮设置动物的呼吸频率，通气量，压力，吸气比例，压力触发阈值，叹息触发阈值。操作便捷，易于使用。同时实时显示呼吸管路的压力，动物的呼吸状态等。
