导读: 4月27日,美国国家科学院公布了最新一批院士(120人)及外籍院士(26人)名单,曹晓风、程亦凡、黄永刚等7位华人教授当选美国科学院院士。

仪器信息网讯 2020年4月27日,美国国家科学院(National Academy of Sciences,NAS)公布了最新一批院士(120人)及外籍院士(26人)名单,以表彰他们在原创研究中的杰出成就。

其中,中国科学院院士、中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所研究员、植物表观遗传学家曹晓风当选为美国科学院外籍院士。此外,还有6位华裔教授当选美国科学院院士,分别为张元豪(Howard Chang)程亦凡(Yifan Cheng)黄永刚(Yonggang Huang)华泰立(Terence Hwa)曹颖(Doris Y. Tsao)杨丽笙(Lai-Sang Young)

至此,美国国家科学院活跃成员总数达到2403人,国际成员总数达到501人。国际成员是该学院的无投票权成员,拥有美国以外的公民身份。

曹晓风,中国科学院院士、中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所研究员,博士生导师。中科院百人计划入选者,国家杰出青年基金获得者,国家自然科学基金优秀创新群体首席科学家。现任 Current Opinion in Plant Biology、The PlantCell等杂志编委,先后获得美国“杜邦青年科学家奖”和“中国青年女科学家奖”等称号。

近年来主要以模式植物拟南芥和水稻为材料,从事植物表观遗传关键因子的鉴定及调控植物发育和维持基因组稳定性的分子机理研究。其实验室采用生物化学、基因组学和遗传学等手段,致力于探索和发现高等植物中组蛋白甲基化和去甲基化酶及其作用靶点;组蛋白甲基化和去甲基化对植物发育(开花)和基因组稳定性的调控作用。对植物表观遗传关键因子的研究不仅为从表观遗传角度进行农作物改良及分子设计育种提供了新的手段,还为肿瘤发生等研究提供了重要线索。其研究成果发表在Nature Genetics, PNAS, Plant Cell 及 AnnualReview of Plant Biology等国际高水平学术期刊上。

张元豪,美国斯坦福大学教授、霍华德·修斯医学(HHMI)研究员,致力于基因组学研究。他的团队开发了一种叫做 ATAC-seq 的技术,能在单个细胞内精准地看到基因在何处激活,以及如何被激活。这开创了一片崭新的领域,改变了我们对许多自身免疫疾病以及癌症的看法。

程亦凡,美国加州大学旧金山分校(UCSF)教授、霍华德·修斯医学(HHMI)研究员。1978年进入武汉大学物理系,1991年获得中国科学院物理所博士学位,1996年,在获得物理博士学位5年后,他转行进入结构生物学领域,2006年任UCSF助理教授。致力于用冷冻电镜技术(cryoEM)研究生物大分子结构,将电子检测相机(electron direct detection device,DDD)引入,使得单粒子cryo-EM从低分辨率提升到原子结构测定,为cryoEM的发展带来技术突破。2013年,他和合作者第一个用单颗粒冷冻电镜方法,将膜蛋白结构解到了近原子分辨率(3.4埃)的水平。

黄永刚,美国西北大学教授,固体力学家,中国科学院外籍院士,美国工程院院士,欧洲科学院院士, 欧洲科学与艺术院院士。黄永刚教授的主要学术成就包括: 1)可延展无机电子器件:基于力学原理创立了可延展无机电子器件的分形互联导线、硅应变隔离设计等新概念,提出了定量化设计理论和制备方法,实现超过300%的器件延展率,极大拓展了器件应用范围,开发了电子眼相机、表皮电子等多种全新器件,相关专利被工业界用于研发生产多种柔性健康监测产品。2)基于微观机制的应变梯度理论:创立基于微观机制的应变梯度理论体系,成功解释纳米压痕实验尺度效应,成为该类实验的技术标准,被来自54个国家几百所大学、研究机构和公司所采用并广泛应用于微纳米力学性能测定。上述成果奠定并拓展了现代力学研究前沿,产生广泛而重要的学术影响。筹划建立了清华大学“先进力学与材料研究中心”和浙江大学“软物质研究中心”并担任主任,引领了国内可延展无机电子器件的发展。

曹颖,加州理工学院神经生物学家,霍华德·修斯医学(HHMI)研究员,因为在揭示灵长类动物大脑视觉神经机制方面的成就获得2018年美国“天才奖”。她利用大脑成像技术、电生理技术、以及数学模型,来研究神经科学上的问题。她最为人所知的成就之一,就是揭示“大脑识别面部”背后的神经科学机理。

杨丽笙,纽约大学数学家,通过与神经科学家们合作揭示视觉的形成原理。出生于香港,现在是美国纽约大学科朗数学研究所的教授。她的研究方向包括动力系统、遍历理论、混沌理论、概率论、统计力学和神经科学。1973年获得威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校的学士学位,1976年和1978年分别获得了加州大学伯克利分校的数学硕士和博士学位。1985年获得斯隆奖,1997年获得古根海姆奖,1993年获得美国数学学会颁发的Ruth Lyttle Satter奖,2004年当选为美国文理科学院院士。她在1998年在Annals of Mathematics(注:数学类期刊影响因子排名前三)上发表的论文已经被引用718次。
