上海交通大学医学院附属第九人民医院的前身“伯特利医院”创建于1920年。1952年更名为上海第九人民医院，1964年正式成为上海第二医科大学附属第九人民医院（以下简称“九院”），2005年上海第二医科大学与上海交通大学正式合并，九院改名为上海交通大学医学院附属第九人民医院（以下简称“九院”）。九院是经上海市卫生局核准登记的政府主办的非营利性三级甲等综合性医院。医院地处上海市中心城区黄浦区。

Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, formerly called Bethel Hospital, was established in 1920.It has been built into a comprehensive medical institution featured with stomatology, plastic surgery and orthopeadics, which conducts teaching and research while providing medical treatment.
The hospital possesses 855 beds,170 chairs for stomatological treatment.It also has 3 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineers: Professor Zhang Di-sheng, Professor Qiu Wei-liu and Professor Dai Ker-rong.
The hospital has been an education base for the School of Stomatology, Shanghai JiaoTong University and School of Jiuyuan clinical Medicine.
