From the Apps Lab - Nano-fretting
The nano-fretting friction module has been used to determine failures due to high cycle wear of ta-C coatings.
The nano-fretting module is used to look at wear behaviour over tens of thousands of cycles, many more than a conventional nano-wear test.
This allows investigation of the wear of materials under very low contact pressures over a long duration.
