在光电信号探测中，往往会受到很多信号的干扰，甚至出现干扰信号强度远远高于待测光信号的情况。此时如 果知道有用信号的频率值，就可以使用锁相放大器来测量这些淹没在噪声中的信号。而斩光调制器可以为锁相放大 器提供参比信号。

斩光调制器通过对光学信号的调制，将光辐射信号调制成交变信号，输出与调制频率同步的参考电压方波， 从而为锁相放大器提供一个准确的参比信号，以便锁相放大器能够识别出有用的微弱信号。

By modulating the optical signal, the chopper modulates the transaction variable signal of the optical radiation signal and outputs the square wave of reference voltage synchronizing with the modulation frequency, thus providing an accurate reference signal for the PLL amplifier so that the PLL amplifier can identify the useful weak signal.
