Thorlabs offers an extensive selection of CE compliant 632.8 nm (red) Helium Neon (HeNe) Lasers with powers from 0.5 mW to 35 mW as stock items. HeNe lasers are widely chosen for use in educational applications and as an alignment tool due to the excellent beam quality and characteristics of a gas discharge laser. Additional packaging features include remote interlock connections, key locked power switches, integrated beam stops, and 4-40 tapped mounting holes on the output face of the laser. Depending on the model chosen the output beam of the HeNe laser will either be linearly polarized or randomly polarized (unpolarized). The state of polarization in a randomly polarized laser beam changes on a nanosecond time scale.
