pathological processes. Most of these inhibitors are found in blood plasma and account for more than 10% of the
protein content, with a vast majority targeted towards the serine proteases. Well studied proteolic systems in which
protease inhibitors exert their regulatory functions are coagulation and fibrinolysis. A profound member of the so-
called serpin family – specific serine protease inhibitors – is protein C inhitor (PCI). The primary function of PCI and
other serpins is regulation of proteolic events that are associated with many biological process.详细>
