Development of Robust HPLC methods using Design for Six-Sigma (DFSS) approach

【报告摘要】

HPLC methods are typically developed by a trial and error approach, which can be time consuming and is hard to ensure the robustness of the methods. Design for Six-Sigma (DFSS) approach has been widely accepted and practiced in pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing, but little attention has been paid so far to its application in analytical method development for pharmaceutical analysis. In this presentation, the main DSFF tools, including voice of customer (VOC), quality function development (QFD), failure modes and effect analysis (FMEA), design of experiment (DOE), and Gage R&R, are demonstrated through case studies toward the development of robust HPLC methods.

 

【报告人简介】

Dr. Tao Jiang is currently a technical fellow in R&D at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. She is a leading expert in analytical technology development/application in the branded drug division. She mainly focuses in HPLC, GC and LC/MS areas and has more than 20 years of research experience in separation media, instrumentation and their applications in pharmaceutical analysis. Dr. Jiang has authored 23 peer-reviewed journal publications, 2 book chapters, and 30 issued US patents. She has also been volunteering as an executive committee member of Chinese American Chromatography Association (CACA) since 2009 and served as the secretary, president-elect, and president of CACA.
