1.Transfer the sample about 10mg , dissolve in anhydrous alcohol 1ml, then add potassium iodide solution 2ml and dilute sulfuric acid 4ml ,and mix , add the starch indicator several drops, the color of solution is Blue purple
2. Transfer the sample of chloroform solution 3 to 4 drops, after chloroform to be volatile, add 2% Vaniilin sulfate Solution 1 drop. The color of solution is red, place the solution, the color gradual change palm.
3. Transfer the sample, accurately weighted. Add chloroform to make the solution about 20mg per ml, according to CP 2005, determinate the rotation. It should show right optical rotation.

用"a couple of drops"也可以

I have been reminded many times that “never” say red color, blue color etc. as they are Chinglish (i.e. it should be green grass, not green color grass). However, happyjyl is expert in this field, I therefore believe that “溶液显**色一般说成a ** color is produced” is a typical expression in chemical testing. (I also search “a red color is produced” in google, and found 4120 results)
“Never” is not absolute.
On the other hand, there may be an alternative for
add a few drops of starch, then the solution will become indigo blue.
(here I remove the word “color” from “indigo blue color” suggested by littlewing at 3/F)
