Sensitivity Requirements - At least once each year the sensitivity of the dielectric equipment is to be checked. The sensitivity of the equipment is to be such that when adjusted to produce the required test voltage and with a 120,000 ohm resistor across the test terminals, the equipment indicates a "breakdown" (a nonconforming performance indication by the tester) within 0.5 seconds. The resistor used shall be provided by the manufacturer and shall have a resistance found to be equal to or greater than 120,000 ohm when measured using a calibrated ohmmeter traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
